CONFEDERATION OF CHESS FOR AMERICA (CCA)
AND THE WORLD CHESS FEDERATION (FIDE)
INVITATION
The Confederation of Chess for America (CCA), the National Mexican Chess Federation (FENAMAC) and the State Government of Aguascalientes are pleased to announce the North America Youth Chess Championship Aguascalientes 2007.
This event is open to players from Bermuda, Canada, United States of America and Mexico.
TITLES AND PRIZES
The top boy and the top girl in each section will qualify to participate in the 2008 Pan-American Youth Festival. Accomodations and meals will be provided to these players at no cost by the organizing federation, supported by the CCA.
The top player in sections U 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 will receive the FIDE Candidate Master or Woman Candidate Master Titles. Acording to FIDE Handbook.
1st, 2nd & 3rd PLACE MEDALS.
Special gifts for the first three places for each category
(they will be anounced at the oppening ceremony)
The country, which accumulates more points in the first 10 places, will be declared North America Youth Chess Champion. It will receive 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th place respectively, for each section, boys and girls.
SECTIONS
Under 8: Born in 1999 and after
Under 10: Born in 1997-1998
Under 12: Born in 1995-1996
Under 14: Born in 1993-1994
Under 16: Born in 1991-1992
Under 18: Born in 1989-1990
All participants must be under 18 on January 1, 2007 on each category. Chapter F III, FIDE Handbook (Date Limit for Age in Junior Tournaments) applies.
TECHNICAL REGULATION
The tournament will be played in Swiss system with 7 rounds. The rate of play will be of 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move, per player.
The final rank of the players is determined by the number of points scored. If at the end of the tournament two or more players are tied, the tie breaking system will be as follows:
A. The sum of progressive scores
B. The Bucholz
C. The medium Bucholz
D. By age in favor of the younger player
The tournament will be ruled by the established in this invitation and according to the document REGULATIONS FOR THE PANAMERICAN REGIONAL YOUTH CHESS FESTIVALS in the CCA web page www.fideamerica.com
FIDE rules will be used at this championship.
REGISTRATION
Every federation can register one guest player in each category (under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 years old, open and girls), that is a total of twelve (12) guest players maximum and 1 representative.
For the guest players, the organization recognizes the accomodations and meals from the dinner of October 4th, up to the breakfast of October 8th, in double accommodation. The one that wishes simple accomodations will have to pay the surplus.
All the travel expenses must be paid by the participants or their federation.
Any federation can register additional players as well. The organization will offer the accomodations and meals, for an Executive for every 12 extra players of the same country.

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
Every federation must register its participants before September 22nd in the web site www.AguascalientesChess2007.com There will be not registration at site.
Entry fee: $50 USD per player.
FENAMAC Membership is required for Mexican citizens and residents.
Roster changes after September 21st will require a $20 fee.
OTHER ITEMS
The Chief and Deputy arbiters will be designated by the president of the CCA.
The matters not considered in this one invitation will be solved by the organizing committee.
